Description
Remnant 2, the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, is a third-person shooter action RPG developed by Gunfire Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. Released on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on July 25, 2023, the game garnered positive reviews and achieved over 2 million unit sales by September 2023. Building on the Soulslike inspiration of its predecessor, Remnant 2 allows players to choose character archetypes like Gunslinger or Challenger, each with unique abilities and perks. The game features expanded procedural generation, randomly generating enemy types, region aesthetics, bosses, NPCs, and quests. Set after Subject 2923, the story follows an unnamed survivor tasked with stopping "The Root," an evil plant species threatening the multiverse. Through various worlds like Yaesha and Ne'rud, the survivor defeats bosses to collect shards, ultimately unlocking Root Earth, where the final battle against the Root takes place, successfully saving the universe. The game also supports solo and cooperative multiplayer modes, with three planned DLC expansions, the first being "The Awakened King" released on November 17, 2023.
