Description
The Finals is an upcoming first-person shooter developed and published by Embark Studios, a subsidiary of Nexon. The game features team-based matches on destructible maps, where players are encouraged to use the dynamic environment to their advantage. The game's concept is inspired by televised virtual combat game shows, similar to "The Hunger Games" and "Gladiator." In the primary game mode, known as "Cashout," teams of three players compete to complete objectives, involving opening vaults and transporting them to a cash-out location. The winning team is determined by the most money collected, which takes into account various in-game metrics such as points, eliminations, assists, deaths, revives, and objectives. Players select characters based on a "Light," "Medium," or "Heavy" scale, with each class having specific weapons, moves, and abilities. However, these choices are not fixed, allowing players to customize their loadouts. The game encourages emergent gameplay with features like destructible terrain, changing weather conditions and time of day, and diverse team compositions. Players can interact with items in the environment, and some are explosive. Entire buildings can be destroyed, and limited construction is possible. When a player is eliminated, they turn into a statue that teammates can revive, either instantly with a defibrillator or after a short delay. Players have limited respawn coins to use for self-revival if needed.
